Proven Winners

Miracle Gro

Cornell

You can stretch a dollar here: We understand the value of a dollar…you see, in 1975 with a borrowed $800, we built our first greenhouse. With some luck and youthful determination the next six years saw growth of a new greenhouse each year. Quickly developing a reputation for quality, Oliver and Cindy Paine’s business continued to grow during the 80’s, along with their two sons.

You can choose from Bazillions of Beautiful Baskets, Combination Planters, Bedding Plants and Potted Flowers:
Today Oliver Paine Greenhouses is one of the largest growers in Central New York. Stroll through rows upon rows of vibrant colored bedding plants, potted flowers and perennials…as well as amazing baskets (we’re told). Our hanging baskets truly stand out. Fuchsia, ivy geraniums and New Guinea Impatiens have been popular for many years, but the colorful Petunia baskets have become the new favorites.

You’ll find ‘Proven Winners’- Quality and Selection:
The latest additions have been the Proven Winners brand of flowering plants. Selected for their outstanding performance, diverse range of colors and textures, as well as disease tolerance, these plants are winning the hearts of gardeners as well as the praises of professional growers. With the addition of a line of perennials and flowering shrubs, the Proven Winners have become some of the Paine’s best offerings. By completing the necessary training and annual updating Paines have become a Proven Winners Certified Garden Center.

The colors never end:
While spring at Paine’s is undeniably exciting, summer and Fall have much to offer as well. The color never stops, with over 45 varieties of Garden Mums. Fall Magic planters add a new accent for fall and can handle that crisp fall air.

Shopping at Oliver Paine’s is an experience for the whole family:
The arrival of cold doesn’t end the actives at the greenhouses. Evergreen wreaths are made fresh daily during November filling the air with that fresh balsam scent. The first Sunday after Thanksgiving is our Poinsettia Open House. Many families attend the annual event to see the 1000’s of beautiful poinsettias that fill the greenhouses and to take photos of the 10-foot tall poinsettia tree.
